I recently watched an interview of an astronaut.
He said when you’re up there in space and you see the earth, it’s so tiny and beautiful and at the same time it’s so scary to see what’s happening to it.
It’s a sad sight to see a war from space, he said. It’s grotesque to see from above how people are fighting each other down on earth. How countries completely destroy each other.
And he’s right. How we humans fight each other out of envy, hatred and a mania for destruction. It’s sad to see that we humans live on such a small, limited planet and fight each other in the process. From up there it must be shocking and clear to see how we are clearing our rainforest, how much of it has already been destroyed and what a huge area it is, not just a patch here and there. We have already destroyed a substantial part of a resource that is vital to our survival. You can see dry fields where there was once water and life.
In my opinion, the media also shows every day how sick humanity has become, with advertisements about how nice it is to cheat on your partner. With advertisements for infidelity.
Destruction is pre-programmed and our children grow up with it. People cheat on each other even though there was a moment when they felt they had found their match. The lure of the media is great and the weak follow suit and forget.
This world is more and more about greed, deceit, trickery and money. Every day we are confronted with negative media. On the radio, on TV, in magazines. Bombs here and attacks there. Rape, robbery, suicide and murder. Innocent animal species are condemned. We humans take their habitat or use them for selfish purposes and turn them into what we then condemn them for. We alone, we humans are to blame for what is happening here on our earth. Whether men or women. No matter which star sign a person has. We are all equal and everyone is responsible for their own actions. Everyone can choose to be good or bad.
I sometimes think that if everyone carried a picture of our earth with them, they would see the important thing in front of their eyes every day. How beautiful our earth is. To see a sunrise or a sunset consciously and emotionally. It is wonderful to see our earth as a planetary body. To look at a small sphere that appears so unique in its colors… Everyone should realize that we humans only populate a small blue lump of stone. We don’t have an infinite number of rivers, an infinite number of lakes and an infinite number of resources at our disposal. We only have one of each place. And our earth is really not as big as it seems to us from down here.
If more people thought about this, they would certainly decide against destruction. I spend as much of my free time as possible in nature… I love living away from big cities in the peace and quiet and nature here. I try to turn my back on the media and all the negativity around us as much as possible. Because it doesn’t deserve my attention. I use my eyes to see beauty and my hands to feel it. I never separate from my son in a fight and without telling him “I love you!”.
Each of us has had to suffer one fate or another. But even with tears in our eyes, everyone should keep the fighting spirit in them and look positively to the future and see the beauty on our earth…
